batEveryone loves the holiday HALLOWEEN. It is my personal favorite and I honor it each year a little bit differently.

There are several ways to go with Halloween. The gothic, eerie motif is a holiday darling.pumpkin The whimsical, colorful theme is a wonderful alternative. An elegant Halloween is scrumptious. It can be a small sit down dinner party or a medium size buffet or a huge finger-food feast. You can wear costumes or just dress nice or not dress at all. There can be a theme, just have fun.

LONG LIVE HALLOWEEN!

Halloween INVITATIONS:

Making your own invitations can be the touch that starts the evening off special. Luckily, I have a talented artist friend who created these mini masterpieces for me one year. Patrick Goldsmith, famous for his happy use of color, put an amusing face on Halloween with his delightful mask invitation.

These whimsical masks invitations were made out of stock board cut to odd head shapes.Patrick Goldsmith They than were colored with oil-pastels such as Cray-pas, and colored pencils. The text was printed on regular paper and traced to fit each mask, cut, and glued. A piece of elastic was added and off they were mailed to the guests. The photo shows PDG spraying them with a sealer to keep the color from smearing.

Pumpkins are a fall & winter staple in my home. Starting at the end of October for Halloween, served at Thanksgiving, and on through the winter. They are a beautiful, vivid orange: full of fiber & water, flavor & nutrition. Their high antioxidants strenghthen the immune system & the beta-carotene levels reduce the risk of diseases. Vitamin C, Niacin, Vitamin E, Calcium and Iron too!
